trophee 2024 update

Now in its fifth edition, the Trophée Startup 2024 competition opens its call for Chilean startups with a scientific and technological base that have sales and a defined internationalization plan. Winners will be able to participate in a softlanding program, allowing companies to access a range of benefits for their expansion in France and Europe with the access to training courses, mentoring, connections with companies, research centers, or public organizations, and participation in important events, among other advantages.

Trophée Startup is organized by the Embassy of France in Chile, Business France, and Inria Chile. For this edition, it will also have the collaboration of entities such as the National Research and Development Agency (ANID), Banco Estado, the Foreign Trade Advisors of France, Corfo, ProChile, and Start-Up Chile. Trophée Startup 202 is supported by the companies Accor, Air France, and Eramet.

Since its first edition in 2020, 57 companies have applied, with ten of them having completed the softlanding program, which includes activities in Chile and France. Additionally, two have managed to open offices in Paris, and a third startup is about to open a branch in Strasbourg, in the Alsace region. Thanks to the Trophée Startup program, a large portion of the companies that have won the competition have managed to sign agreements with French institutions and companies, positioning themselves in international markets.

What benefits does the program offer?

  • Training in digital technologies with Inria Academy.
  • Presentation of the French market and its opportunities, with Business France.
  • Networking in Chile and France (research centers, public organizations, companies, etc.).
  • Two to three weeks of acceleration in a world-renowned accelerator with dedicated training and programs.
  • Participation in an event with international impact such as Vivatech.
  • Round-trip airfare and per diem.

What are the requirements for application?

  • Present a high-level scientific and technological proposal with significant sophistication and impact.
  • Be a company with private legal status established in Chile, with a creation date no more than 10 years prior to the application.
  • Demonstrate sales in the 12 months prior to the application to the Competition and/or have been a beneficiary of funding through public or private, national or international competitive funds.

From July 30 to September 13, the call for companies will be open. During October, the evaluation and selection of finalists will take place, and on November 7, the final and announcement of the winners will be held at Start-up Chile, a collaborating institution of the initiative. The winning companies will begin their acceleration process during the first semester of 2025.
