As part of an institutional visit aimed at strengthening the Franco-Chilean bilateral relationship in matters of intellectual property, the General Director of the Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI) of France, Pascal Faure, visited Inria Chile along with a delegation from the organization, comprised of its Director of Economic Action, François-Xavier de Beaufort; the Regional Advisor for Latin America, Renaud Gaillard, and the Policy Officer for Latin America, Déborah Broquere.
During this visit, the attendees toured the facilities, learned about the center's work, and discussed the great importance of intellectual property for Inria Chile, particularly for the development of scientific and technological projects and their transfer.
Later, they discussed the current challenges in intellectual property management and potential future areas of collaboration, particularly related to the training and transfer of knowledge on intellectual property, emphasizing the needs of scientific and technological-based startups.
Inria Chile valued this visit and the opportunity to showcase the work that is carried out around intellectual property, highlighting the critical role that these efforts play in boosting the scientific-technological ecosystem and innovation.
To close the activity, the book "Inria, a decade in Chile" was presented, which commemorates Inria's first 10 years in the country and includes the main milestones and projects since its arrival in 2012.
