Implementation of a mechanistic model of the anaerobic digestion process and development of Web application.
Procycla has developed and patented an anaerobic reactor (biodigester) that is used to treat livestock waste such as cow manure. It also serves to obtain biogas - rich in methane - and a fertilizer called digestate. The operation of these biodigesters can be supervised and controlled by means of the mathematical modeling of the process. Inria Chile worked on the development and implementation of a mechanistic model (based on the ADM1 model), to mathematically represent the anaerobic digester designed by the ProCycla company, whose configuration corresponds to that of a PFR reactor.
Subsequently, Inria Chile developed for Procycla a web application that would allow plant operators to manually record measurements and observations through an electronic device such as a tablet or smartphone.
