In its third edition, the Inria Chile Scientific Conference brings together actors from the French and Chilean ecosystem to address the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence, standing out as the only pre-event in Chile for the AI Action Summit 2025 in Paris and consolidating Chile's role in the global discussion on this technology.
Our Journées Scientifiques, is the first official event following the signing of the Agreement for the creation of the French-Chilean Binational Artificial Intelligence Center. At the same time, it is part of the path towards the AI Action Summit as the only official pre-event in Chile of this global Summit that will take place in Paris in February 2025, consolidating the country as a key player in the global discussion on artificial intelligence.
The Journées Scientifiques, which will be held on December 4, 5 and 6 at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) and whose official language will be English, represent a unique opportunity for French and Chilean researchers to meet to address the complex challenges and opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI) around current topics such as generative AI and foundational models; Advances in AI; AI and Public Interest; Uses of AI and AI for Science and AI, in line with the work axes of the Paris Summit. It will also address the contribution of artificial intelligence to priority areas for both nations, such as climate change, oceans, biodiversity, health, astronomy and agroecology, among others.

The Journées Scientifiques set a major milestone in our path towards an AI-driven future and consolidate as a unique meeting space of the French-Chilean artificial intelligence ecosystem. It is an honor and a responsibility to be the only official pre-event in Chile and we intend it to be a strategic platform to prepare the ground for the AI Action Summit in February in Paris. I invite you all to be part of this adventure.

The conference will be inaugurated on December 4 by the French Ambassador to Chile, Cyrille Rogeau; the Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Aisén Etcheverry; and the General Director of Inria Chile, Nayat Sánchez-Pi.
The event, which is free of admission, is held in collaboration with Universidad de Chile, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Universidad de Valparaíso de Chile, Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Universidad Andrés Bello, Universidad de O'Higgins and Universidad San Sebastián. In addition, the activity is supported by the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID).
