A new impetus for a historic collaboration
The agreement between the Universidad de Valparaíso and Inria Chile aims to give a new boost to the collaboration between both institutions, which has already resulted in more than 30 research and development projects since 2012. Recently in 2024, three new Franco-Chilean associate teams have been created and are led by researchers from Inria in France and researchers from the Universidad de Valparaíso, reflecting the new momentum of the cooperation between both institutions.
Along with the signing of the agreement, a heartfelt recognition was carried out for the outstanding career of the French researcher Denis Talay de Inria, who, together with the Chilean researcher Rolando Rebolledo and with many other Chilean researchers and academics, laid the foundations for one of the lines of research most significant for Inria in his first years in Chile through decades of Franco-Chilean scientific cooperation in stochastic analysis and partial differential equations, singular stochastic models and numerical probability.

Today, by renewing our alliance with Inria Chile, we not only celebrate a link with an important French institution, but we also reaffirm our commitment to the future of innovation and research. This collaboration, more than a simple association, is an experience mutually beneficial, where not only our university benefits from the presence of Inria here in Chile and its alliance with different universities, but also our country, Chile, benefits from its presence.
