Within the framework of the Franco-Chilean Binational Center on Artificial Intelligence, an initiative operated by Inria Chile, projects will be selected in line with the Center's priority areas:

  • AI evaluation

  • Generative AI and fundamental models

  • AI for science and other sciences for the development of AI

  • Frugal and Embedded AI

With the Inria International Chairs (or IIC) program, researchers holding a Chair will benefit from a high-quality working environment in France and a salary during their stays at Inria. Selected researchers will also benefit from a seal of excellence and unique visibility through the Binational Center.

The Inria International Chairs (IIC) program is open to a wide range of scientists. There are two application categories to suit different career paths:

  • IIC “Starting Career”: aimed at permanent researchers with between 5 and 12 years of experience after defending their doctoral thesis. It allows for a flexible stay of 6 to 9 months, spread over a period of 3 years, in an Inria team in France. It is an excellent opportunity for those seeking to establish solid international collaborations at a crucial stage in their career.

  • IIC “Advanced Career”: aimed at internationally renowned permanent researchers. It allows for a flexible stay of 10 to 12 months, to be carried out over a period of 5 years in an Inria team in France. It is ideal for scientists with an outstanding track record who wish to delve deeper into large-scale research projects and consolidate their global impact.
