Master Class in French, with simultaneous translation into Spanish
Corese is an open source software platform that implements and extends Semantic Web standards. It allows creating, manipulating, parsing, serializing, querying, reasoning and validating RDF data and knowledge graphs.
There are three versions of Corese:
-
Corese-library: Java library to process RDF data and use Corese features in your software.
-
Corese-server: Tool to easily create, configure and manage SPARQL endpoints.
-
Corese-gui: Graphical interface that allows an easy and visual use of Corese features.
What will I discover in the Master Class?
The objective of this course is to present CORESE, an open source software platform that implements and extends Semantic Web standards. In this master class, the languages and principles that make it possible to represent and publish linked data on the web will be addressed.
Fabien Gandon
Research Director and head of the Wimmics joint team at Inria, Fabien Gandon is one of the world's leading experts in the field of the semantic web. His PhD in 2002 was the first to jointly use distributed artificial intelligence (AI) and the semantic web to manage diverse data sources and users on a web architecture. Then, as director of a research project at Carnegie Mellon University (USA), he proposed an artificial intelligence method to enforce privacy preferences when querying and reasoning about personal data. In 2004, hired as a researcher at Inria, he started studying models and algorithms to integrate social media and knowledge-based AI systems on the web and support humans in the loop. In 2012, he became Inria's representative at the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
In 2015, Fabien launched a series of bilingual MOOCs on the French national platform FUN on the Semantic Web and Linked Data. He also became a lecturer at the Data ScienceTech Institute (DSTI). In 2017, Fabien created the QWANT-Inria joint research lab and also became responsible for the research agreement between the French Ministry of Culture and Inria. From 2018 to 2022, Fabien was deputy research director of the Inria centre at Université Côte d'Azur. In 2019, Fabien received an AI professorship from the 3IA institute at Côte d'Azur. In 2022, he became co-chair of the DSTI scientific board.
